Alice in Wonderland holds a special place in many girls hearts. She is a Disney favorite and many movies have been made of her – even though she isn’t a Disney princess. Like my grand-daughter said to me, “She’s a little girl. Just like me!” We love the story of Alice around here, so this is the next batch of cupcake ideas I rounded up – enjoy!

The Mad Hatter is right off the bat. It wouldn’t be wonderland without him. This cupcake idea is done by swirling frosting and creating a hat out of flat fondant, then sticking it on so it looks like it sits up.
Do you want to be taller then the trees, or as small as the grass? Take a bite of the mushroom and you may find yourself one of these sizes if you’re in an Alice and Wonderland story.
These are my favorites. They are simple cupcakes with a pink and purple icing swirl. Then you add the teeth and you have the disappearing face of the Cheshire Cat! Very clever – not to mention yummy. I have seen this type of thing done with his tail – even Disney World has that treat. But, this is the first time I have seen the face made like this. Not sure if little ones will get it, but if you have a pre-teen or teenager having a themed party, they will get it. And then there are adults – it will definitely get you some laughs.
This cutie design is great for a young girls party – or any un-birthdays you want to celebrate. I know Girl Scouts love celebrating the unbirthday tea party! It does take a bit of work and time to put these together, not as simple as the cupcakes above. But they are well worth the effort. The cup part of the tea cup is an ice cream cone, using candy rings, a cookie and icing to form the bottom of the cup. The handle is half the candy ring. You can substitute pretzels for the candy ring. Place a mini or regular cupcake in the cup, dollop icing on it.
These are the bigger cone sizes. The one thing that is important to remember when making these teacups is not to have the paper on the cupcakes when you place them in the ice cream cone, as the cone itself is how someone will hold and eat it. Tip: cook the cupcakes without papers by greasing your cupcake tin before cooking. This will make the cupcakes have an outside edge that is not too soft to handle, like when you pull the papers off. OR: pull the papers off very carefully.
If you have the ability to write with icing, these fun Alice in Wonderland sayings cupcakes will be the perfect ones for your birthday party. The one place you may not want to have these is at a teen party where the message may be perceived as raunchy.
So easy! Run around the party yelling you’re late and hand out these fun wonky clock cupcakes.
The white rabbit is a major part of the Alice in Wonderland story. If you like playing with fondant and creating little creatures, this is the cupcake for you!
Use fondant and cutouts to make the playing cards guards for the Queen of Hearts. You will need an edible marking pen too. You can also make a spade with an upside-down heart cutout.
